For over a decade touring globally, Kate Mior’s aesthetic has become a complex theatrical experience with a comprehensive visual style. Described as “ethereal, quirky and dreamy” her work is rooted in her Italian clowning heritage, taking inspiration from her grandmother who performed in Mascherata, coupled with her classical mime training in the Decrox technique. Her world weaves together 18th century rococo splendour, weathered Victorian machines and the surreal whimsy of Magritte juxtaposed with a deliberately handmade mise-en-scene. Her subject matter embraces and celebrates the tragedy in comedy. Her style is incomparable, her characters are memorable, and her acts are emotionally charged. Kate and her team of artists are able to create beautiful environments and features acts for any street, theatre, or corporate event.
